A sense of calm embodies this serene, sacred space. Shaped like a Jewish star, the garden is four feet high, with eight-inch-high levels to create ledges.
These ledges, which are made of granite, will be etched with names for Yahrzeit. There are spaces for 4000 Yahrzeit names.
Six triangle planters, symbolizing the six million Holocaust victims and also shaped like a Jewish star, and are filled with stones. Guests are invited to place a stone from the planter next to their loved ones’ names, as is traditional at cemeteries and memorial gardens.
In front of each side is a bench—18 sides with 18 benches, the Hebrew numerical symbol for life, ‘Chai’.
Lynn and Gary Kantor Social Hall
Benefactors Lynn and Gary Kantor have underwritten our social hall, which is a crucial part of synagogue life at Congregation Ner Tamid.

Next to the stage is a storage room, which is next to the Lehrner/Berkley Bride’s Room/Green Room for staging.
